BINDRUNE NEWS

We are honored to announce that England's Wodensthone have become part of the ever growing Bindrune family! Specializing in an atmospheric and gripping form of Heathen black metal, Wodensthrone have created some of the most engaging music that we have heard from this genre in ages. By combining  the varying extremes of melody, technical ferocity, subtle synth textures along with airy music breaks that can only be described as "ancient" feeling in scope, this potent and inspiring force seeks to rekindle the fire of Odin in the hearts of modern men and pay tribute to England's Pagan roots.

Wodensthrone's yet untitled full-length on Bindrune Recordings will be unleashed towards the winter/spring of 2008. Until then, the band has completed all the material and recording for their half of an upcoming split CD with fellow countrymen, Winterfylleth on the latter bands own label. More info will be made available as this release approaches completion and we'll of course be stocking copies in the Worm Gear/Bindrune webshop.

Currently available from the band and in stock in the distro, is Wodensthrone's debut, in the form of a split 7" with Niroth:

More information will be made available here as it transpires and we further update the band pages of the
Bindrune site. For a full bio and available songs, visit the official Wodensthrone page on myspace at: http://www.myspace.com/wodensthrone

Blood of the Black Owl
Seattle's Blood of the Black Owl is crushing the masses with their thunderous sounds. The S/T full-length is making its way across the US and onto foreign soil. In support of this event, Shamanic visionary, Chet W. Scott, has recently completed an interview for the UK's Zero Tolerance Magazine for the upcoming issue. Interviews supporting the Black Owl will soon be surfacing in Metal Maniacs and Unrestrained. Keep your eyes peeled on the press, for the druidic tongue of Scott is about to speak! In the meantime, many new reviews for the album have been added to the press section of this website. Here what the critics are saying...

On a similar note, an in-depth interview with Chet regarding his main musical journey, Ruhr Hunter, can be viewed on the ever ambitious and eclectic webzine, Musique Machine

Celestiial
Tanner Anderson is in the process of rehearsing the material for the yet unnamed, 2nd full-length album slated for a summer 2007 release. More traditional instruments shall enter this already dense canvas of nature based doom, including an actual drummer.

"I would describe it, simply, as the most natural progression you would expect from the debut. "Desolate North" was released last year but the material is much older. That said, the new album will continue with the same feeling as its predecessor but will incorporate the ideas and inspiration from the last few years. The one thing that will change is the transition into a studio and the production falling into the hands of a man with a great understanding for this sound. The recording will be full and cavernous as opposed to the raw (but effective) sound on "Desolate North". Another notable mention is the use of acoustic drums, which have given the material more room to evolve. Also expect natural sounds and harp like the debut as well as another traditional instrument that I am honored to record."

More news to come as it rises from the swamp...
